Project Worker

World Changing Centre (WCC) is a dynamic organization working with underprivileged children and young people in Sierra Leone. The organization seeks to appoint a Project Worker with proven people and project management experience to further expand the established work and to develop the vision for the future.

The qualified applicant will be expected to:

• Manage projects, overseeing its development and the delivery of work streams as well as having responsibility for recruitment, training and supervision of staff/volunteers.

• Actively collaborate work with other organizations and agencies so as to maximize opportunities for the children and young people of the organization.

• You will be an excellent project and people manager, experienced in developing new initiatives and harnessing shared working. You will be creative and innovative in your approach with a keen eye for detail.

• Be adaptable with the ability to work both independently and within a team to a high standard.

• Be an effective communicator both written and oral and have good organizational skills in engaging others.

• Possess relevant qualifications in working with children and young ones, social work or teaching with post grad experience, minimum 5 years, and minimum bachelor’s degree.

• You will be highly motivated and passionate about seeing young people make positive life choices.

• Report to and liaise with the Trustees on activities undertaken.

• Experience in working with Microsoft Office applications.

• Have a proactive attitude, driven with enthusiasm to carry out projects.

• Sound understanding of human and children’s rights issues at local, national and international level.

• Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines.

Interviews will take place on Saturday 4th May 2019 (1 -3pm via Skype, WhatsApp or Imo). The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced police check.

World Changing Centre (WCC) is a charity organization that is based in the United Kingdom under registration number 1136070. WCC adopts a philosophy which considers education, schooling, skills training and knowledge acquisition along with healthcare to be the main pillars for any society aiming for revitalization and prosperity. WCC aims to provide children and young people in Sierra Leone with improved quality of life and access to up to date educational services.

We are currently looking for enthusiastic and open-minded individual to carry administrative duties on behalf of the charity.

Job Role:

  • Communicate over-the-phone or by e-mail mainly with superstores to arrange fundraising.
  • Create, keep and maintain charity paperwork
  • Arrange, store and confirm fundraising permissions, throughout various locations across Sierra Leone
  • Fulfill targets given daily

Who we are looking for:

  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office, mainly Word and Excel.
  • Be very comfortable speaking over the phone, as this important for the role.
  • Strong minded individual and responsible.
  • A fluent English speaker who enjoys talking with people.
  • Someone who can work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Experience in book keeping, account budget, meeting planner, report writing. However, the right candidates can be trained.

What we are offering:

Basic salary:

Paid monthly and work Monday to Saturday (8.30 AM to 4PM) 1hour mandatory brakes.

Full Time/Part Time Available
